Two of the Court’s top Men’s Triples teams compete at home against each other (!) in the Birmingham area final of the Warwickshire County Triples.
The match lived up to expectations with a superb display of bowling from all six players to entertain the watching spectators.
The match ebbed and flowed with Antony Gould, Rob Robinson and Mark Delaney going into the last end 3 shots up against fellow Erdington Court members Martin Ashton, Harry Chapman and Ben Harris
In a game lasting over three and a half hours with only one bowl left and a shot down – it looked all over for Martin and his team – but a tremendous firing bowl from Ben killed the end – and then in the replayed end. a wonderful trailing shot by new member Harry gave his team the 4 that they needed for victory.
STOP PRESS
Martin, Harry and Ben travelled across to Rugby – hoping to secure a Warks County quarter final place in the Triples on a green none of them had ever played on before.
With very little grass on the green, Erdington started fast – winning the first 5 ends taking a 0-9 lead and never looked back. Mastering the length well all three contributed to a very dominant 5-20 away win.
Erdington Court is also the only Club in the Birmingham Bowling Association League to have 3 teams competing.
