Attended by the new Lord Mayor of Birmingham Councillor Zafar Iqbal. Over 75 visitors attended the event – which also featured local community groups with which the Club is associated. A number of visitors signed up for membership of the Club (which equates to only £4.50 per week). Others registered for the Club’s 1 hour Monday afternoon Bowl For Health sessions.
Club Chairperson Rob Robinson told us,”The Lord Mayor was literally ‘bowled over’ by our facilities. He has promised to join the Club in a year’s time when he retires! He was particularly impressed by our community links and the emphasis that we put on helping those with mobility issues. We outlined the support that we have received from Witton Lodge Community Association and from Birmingham City Council to purchase equipment and run sessions. He was also very interested in the centenary pictorial exhibition which is on display in our refurbished lounge.”
